The Alaska SeaLife Center (ASLC) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 Alaska Ocean Leadership Awards. These awards are given annually to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the awareness and sustainability of the state’s marine resources.

Winter FISHtival kicks-off at the Alaska SeaLife Center

Family friendly activities, special feedings and educational opportunities on four Saturdays during the month of January, 2017

Seward, Alaska (January 3, 2017) – The Alaska SeaLife Center is pleased to kick-off 2017 with Winter FISHtival! Each Saturday during the month of January the Center will offer special family friendly activities led by animal care experts and educators. All activities are included in the cost of admission and free to members.

ASLC Begins FREEzing Winter Wednesdays

The Alaska SeaLife Center invites Alaska residents to take advantage of FREEzing Winter Wednesdays when planning their winter excursions. Every Wednesday from November 2, 2016 through February 22, 2017, Alaska residents receive free general admission to the Alaska SeaLife Center upon presentation of a valid ID. Visitors 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.

ASLC to Lead Creation of Nationwide Wildlife Response Network: Unprecedented disaster preparedness effort to involve zoos and aquariums across the U.S.

The Alaska SeaLife Center is pleased to announce it has received a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to work with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to create and sustain a nationwide network of animal care professionals to respond to oil spills and other disasters.
