The success of the Alaska Marine Gala depends on the involvement and support of our sponsors. By supporting the Alaska Marine Gala, you are demonstrating a dedication to:
Science Education – be it through visitors to the Center; elementary school field trips and nocturne programs; innovative and global reaching distance learning programs or internships, the Alaska SeaLife Center is introducing the Alaska marine ecosystem and all its wonderful inhabitants to students of all ages both in Alaska and around the world.
Marine Research – our scientists conduct unique and cutting edge coldwater marine science that has global impacts. Our work directly informs marine educators, resource managers, communities, industry and other stakeholders in the Alaska and around the North Pacific ecosystem.
Wildlife Rescue – Center staff respond to calls of marine animals and birds in distress, rescue, care for and then release stranded marine wildlife from across the state of Alaska.
Community – the Alaska SeaLife Center is a 100% Alaskan nonprofit that does our business here, serves as a visitor destination and employees over 90 Alaska residents.
Stewardship of marine resources – responding to, rescuing and rehabilitating stranded marine birds and animals is just one of the ways that ASLC promotes stewardship of Alaska’s marine resources. In addition, we promote the use of sustainable practices that can have positive impacts on marine resources. Our vision is that future generations continue to enjoy the bounty of Alaska’s oceans.
Our theme this year is Windows to the World. The Alaska SeaLife Center has global impact. Here are just a couple of programs that demonstrate that.
