Sea otter pup progressing well under Alaska SeaLife Center care. Members of the public may view pup in the Center’s “I.Sea.U” unit

The Alaska SeaLife Center (ASLC) is inviting visitors to see wildlife response and rehabilitation in action.
A tiny sea otter pup is now receiving 24-hour care in the Center’s “I.Sea.U” area where members of the public may observe the pup being cared for by animal care specialists. Estimated to be three weeks old when it was admitted to ASLC’s Wildlife Response and Rehabilitation Program on March 18, staff say the pup is progressing well.

Alaska SeaLife Center Admits First Stranded Seal of 2017

The Alaska SeaLife Center (ASLC) has admitted its first stranded marine mammal of 2017, a yearling ringed seal from Dutch Harbor. Following on the heels of a record breaking year in 2016 for the Center’s wildlife response team, ASLC President and CEO, Tara Riemer says wildlife response is shifting from a primarily summer activity to a steady year-round concern.

Winter FISHtival kicks-off at the Alaska SeaLife Center

Family friendly activities, special feedings and educational opportunities on four Saturdays during the month of January, 2017

Seward, Alaska (January 3, 2017) – The Alaska SeaLife Center is pleased to kick-off 2017 with Winter FISHtival! Each Saturday during the month of January the Center will offer special family friendly activities led by animal care experts and educators. All activities are included in the cost of admission and free to members.

ASLC Begins FREEzing Winter Wednesdays

The Alaska SeaLife Center invites Alaska residents to take advantage of FREEzing Winter Wednesdays when planning their winter excursions. Every Wednesday from November 2, 2016 through February 22, 2017, Alaska residents receive free general admission to the Alaska SeaLife Center upon presentation of a valid ID. Visitors 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.
