Volunteer Program ASLC has now partnered with two fantastic volunteer organizations; AmeriCorps and Volunteers For Alaska (VFA). To get involved with our volunteer program through these organizations, please see the links below. You may download the volunteer application and descriptions of volunteer opportunities on the link above the WOW Program description. AmeriCorps Placement: The Alaska SeaLife Center is now hosting AmeriCorps* placements in ourAvian Husbandry, Marine Mammal Husbandry, & Laboratory Departments. These are volunteer positions requiring 1700 service hours, equaling 11 months of service. These exciting new positions will work closely with our Avian, Mammal, or Laboratory staff on husbandry or laboratory related activities as well as educational development and implementation. In addition, we are now hosting AmeriCorps placements in our Education Department. These positions require 900 service hours, equaling 6 months of service. This is an excellent way to gain more experience in the field of husbandry or laboratory and education! A food stipend and other perks are supplied by the AmeriCorps for these positions. For more information on these fantastic opportunities, please visit the AmeriCorps Website. Click below for more information on current open AmeriCorps positions*:

Volunteers For Alaska: Volunteers for Alaska (VFA) is a non-profit organization which was founded in 2004. VFA’s mission is to place capable and enthusiastic volunteers from around the world into positions around the state of Alaska. Our goal is to foster community development, environmental awareness, and ultimately an organized effort to make sure the beautiful land of Alaska is preserved in her splendor for generations to come. This is an excellent resource if you are interested in volunteering for ASLC but are from the lower 48 or from a foreign country. VFA will gather all your food & other supplies you may need as well as find housing for your stay while in Alaska. For more information, please visit the VFA website at the link below.
