The ASLC has a lot to offer the bird enthusiast with our Puffin Encounters and our Eider Research program.  We also house incredible resident bird species that are sure to amaze you with their adaptations that allow them to thrive in the frigid Alaskan waters.

Spotlight on Puffin Encounters

Learn all about the SeaLife Center’s favorite diving birds, the Horned and Tufted Puffins.  This special program allows visitors the unique opportunity to meet the members of the Alcid family, Alaskan seabirds that “fly” beneath the surface of the water.   This program includes a special behind-the-scenes look at the seabird aviary, the care of the birds at ASLC, and their natural history, along with a close-up of the rehabilitation, research, and education programs involving the birds.   You may even be able to join the keepers in the habitat for a feeding!
