Congratulations to Alaska SeaLife Center President & CEO Dr. Wei Ying Wong and ASLC Board Member Dr Bridget Coughlin,  who also serves as President & CEO of Shedd Aquarium, on being named to the 2026 blooloop 50 Zoo & Aquarium Influencer List! Bridget also earned a spot among the Top 10 influencers!

Now in its fifth year, this prestigious list recognizes 50 leaders whose passion, innovation, and dedication are helping shape the future of zoos, aquariums, and conservation around the world.

At the Alaska SeaLife Center, Wei Ying has championed an approach to conservation that brings together scientific research, education, and community perspectives. Her leadership has helped strengthen the connection between science and the people and communities it serves. Her work reflects the importance of collaboration,  co-produced knowledge, and a commitment to healthy marine ecosystems for future generations for humans and non-humans.

At Shedd Aquarium, Bridget has led ambitious efforts to expand conservation initiatives, advance animal care, and make aquatic science and education more accessible. Her work demonstrates the important role aquariums play not only in protecting wildlife and habitats but also in inspiring millions of people to care about our oceans and waterways.
