Wei Ying has worked in interdisciplinary and multicultural conservation projects both locally and internationally for almost two decades. An experienced executive with a passion for marine science, the pursuit of studies and career has brought her to many different states and countries. Amidst snowstorms, Wei Ying joined ASLC and the community of Seward in December 2021 as the Chief Science and Education Officer (CSEO). As CSEO, Wei Ying reenergized and expanded the science and education programs to develop and implement a visionary science agenda. Wei Ying was named President and CEO on March 31, 2024. Wei Ying marries her social science training and love of strategy to build programs that engage diverse stakeholders in conservation to achieve measurable outcomes. She is committed to the establishment of inclusive discourses and socially just environmental policies, as well as dismantling the systems of power and privilege in the conservation arena. Wei Ying earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Environmental Studies at Brown University and continues to keep her fingertips in invasion ecology research. She has been the recipient of multiple research fellowships including Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Communication and Margaret Sheridan Community Learning Award, as well as a participant of several leadership programs such as Toyota-Audubon Conservation Leader, Rhode Island Foundation Emerging Non-Profit Leader, and AZA Executive Leadership.

Brad Ryan joined the Alaska SeaLife Center in January 2025, bringing extensive expertise in environmental science, research, and community leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Resources, with a focus on juvenile salmon vulnerability to avian predation, and spent a decade as a research scientist with NOAA, where he made impactful contributions to marine resource protection. After his tenure at NOAA, Brad moved to Haines, Alaska, collaborating with Native Tribes and watershed councils to advance watershed restoration and safeguard the state's unique ecosystems. His commitment to community development led him to serve as Director of Public Facilities and later as Borough Manager, where he applied his scientific knowledge to improve public infrastructure and services. At the Alaska SeaLife Center, Brad combines his passion for conservation, research, and community engagement to support the Center’s mission of fostering understanding and stewardship of Alaska’s marine ecosystems.

Neisha joined the Executive Team at Alaska Sealife Center in June 2023. She is a certified professional in Human Resources and DEIJ Practitioner with over 10 years' experience practicing human resources in the public, non-profit, and education industries.  Throughout her career, she's found her passion in building HR infrastructure while embedding equity and inclusion into people and organizational culture strategies. By starting her journey in HR compliance and facilitating resolutions to employment discrimination complaints, she brings a unique perspective as an HR and DEIJ strategist within corporate structures. Neisha serves as Board President for New Life Development and as a Board Member for Best Beginnings. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and enjoys participating in local community service activities with her daughter.

Mission Statement The Alaska SeaLife Center generates and shares scientific knowledge to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaska's marine ecosystems.  About The Alaska SeaLife Center is the only facility in Alaska that combines a public aquarium with marine research, education, and wildlife response.  While primarily dedicated to marine research and education, the nonprofit Center is the only permanent marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation facility in the state.  The Alaska SeaLife Center lies at "Mile 0" of the scenic Seward Highway on the shores of Resurrection Bay. Seward, Alaska (November 1, 2016)– The Alaska SeaLife Center invites Alaska residents to take advantage of FREEzing Winter Wednesdays when planning their winter excursions. Every Wednesday from November 2, 2016 through February 22, 2017, Alaska residents receive free general admission to the Alaska SeaLife Center upon presentation of a valid ID. Visitors 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.   The Alaska SeaLife Center is open seven days a week from 12:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m, except November 24 and December 25 for the Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day holidays.

Announcing the Alaska SeaLife Center Soirée, a new event replacing our largest fundraiser of the year, the Alaska Marine Gala. This fun event will be a two-hour cocktail reception with heavy appetizers. Guests will mingle with other mission supporters while participating in a live auction, raffle, games, and more. ASLC Internship Program Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity? The Alaska SeaLife Center (ASLC) is sponsoring internship programs for college students or graduates who are interested in gaining a one-of-a-kind experience in a world class marine facility. ASLC internships offer a well-rounded experience in a variety of areas within the Center. Depending on the type of internship, duties may include assisting aquarium, avian, or marine mammal staff with animal husbandry tasks; helping with marine-related research projects, or as support in our education department.  Our Internship Program includes: SUMMER Internships: May through early August FALL Internships: October through December WINTER Internships: January through April   Program Information The internships are unpaid.    Housing is provided.   Participation in the program requires 40 hours per week.   A background check will be conducted on all potential interns.   Interns will be required to sign a contract agreeing to a start and end date.   College credit can be earned but must be arranged by you and your college.   Interns are responsible for their own meals and travel expenses.   ASLC does not sponsor visas for foreign students.     Application Instructions Complete the application for no more than 2 positions.
