Seward First Friday Art Walk

Visit local businesses hosting featured artists during Seward First Friday Art Walks! Featured artists will be on display in the ASLC lobby from 6 - 8 PM on the first Friday of each month (May to September).
Seward First Friday Art Walks are hosted by the Seward Chamber of Commerce and Seward Art Council.

2026 Seward Seabird Festival

Alaskan bird enthusiasts flock to Seward this month for the annual Seward Seabird Festival! Join community partners to celebrate the rich seabird diversity of the Kenai fjords through family-friendly activities, local art, sightseeing opportunities, and chances to network with seabird researchers and professionals. From the budding birder to the seasoned seabird expert, this city-wide event has something for everyone!

World Oceans Day at the Alaska Sealife Center
June 7, 2026 - June 8, 2026



Join the Alaska SeaLife Center for a family-friendly, fun-filled day of ocean-themed activities and educational booths bringing together science and culture to celebrate and protect the world's oceans!

Sunday, June 7th: All Day Activities on the Plaza, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Interactive activities: Visit our outdoor touch pool, experiment with microscopes, and see the Wildlife Response Van.
  • “Beach in a Bottle” marine debris art project: do your part to clean up the beach and bring marine debris back to the Center to add to glass bottles for display
  • Cultural salmon skinning demonstration in collaboration with Homestead Handicraft
  • Bounce house

Monday, June 8th: Special programs inside the Center with admission 

“How Deep is your Love” film screening – With deep-sea mining looming, biologists race to collect and name the undiscovered species of the abyss, the last wilderness on earth,

  • Location: ASLC Bear Mountain Conference Room
  • Screenings at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Plankton Mandala Art Exhibit - Workshop lead artwork that captures the beauty of the smallest ocean animals

Beers by the Bay
November 14, 2026
6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Explore the Alaska SeaLife Center after hours at Beers by the Bay. Sample beer, wine, cider, mead, and kombucha from Alaskan brewers, enjoy a generous appetizer buffet, and take part in fundraising games woven throughout the evening – a relaxed fall night of sipping and strolling in support of our work! Proceeds help us continue our mission work

Community Holiday Party at the Alaska SeaLife Center
